Cycling less traveled paths from the Mekong delta to the ancient capital town of Hue is a great way to experience the natural wonders and cultural delights of Vietnam.  You will cycle among backdrops of charming villages, rice paddies, emerald jungle, and white beaches. This trip runs Saigon to Mekong delta, Quy nhon, Quang Ngai, Hoi An and Hue. 
 
ITINARARY:
DAY 1: ARRIVAL DAY IN SAIGON
Upon arrival, our driver with private car will meet you at the airport and transfer to your desired hotel in Saigon. 6:00PM your guide will meet you for pre-tour brief and take you out for dinner and enjoy Saigon in the everning.

DAY 2: CYCLE TO BEN TRE
Your guide will meet you at your hotel in Saigon and we travel south to Ben Tre in the Mekong delta by private mini bus which takes about 2 hours. Begin riding on backcountry roads pass through rural villages, rice paddy fields, rivers and cannals. Take a break by having lunch at local restaurant in Bentre, have some time to relax and enjoy fruit orchard. When ready, we cycle to boat station to load all bicycles on our boat and make our way up one of the many canals. Around sunset we meet the local family where we enjoy great local hospitality and a wonderful meal of local specialties. Tonight we sleep on simple camp beds in a dorm-style arrangement. Bedding and mosquito nets are provided. The toilet and bathroom facilities are shared and with hot water shower!

DAY 3: CYCLE TO TRA VINH AND TO TRA ON 
We have breakfast at the homestay and it's then time for cycling. We take an easy, flat ride through the shady canal paths and back roads, stopping along the way to try the fresh fruit and to have a tasty lunch. By mid day, we take a ferry ride on one of the largest segments of the Mekong river toTra Vinh - the regional architecture is interesting and there are many Khmer temples. With your guide, you will
cycle through Khmer villages, visit some Khmer Pagoda School and learn about the life of Khmer students. In late afternoon, we arrive at the home of our hosts in Tra On. You may try cooking the traditional meal for dinner with the family. You could also take a walk around the village before dinner.

DAY 4: BOAT TRIP TO TRA ON FLOATING MARKET, CYCLE TO VINH LONG 30KM
As we wake on your day, you will be wishing your time in the Delta not to end, but there is still time to see the floating markets for which this area has become quite well known. We will take us to a real, local floating market in Tra On where vegetables are tossed from craft to craft and a little coffee vendor boat bounces in and out of the gaps, serving strong, iced coffee to both vendors and customers. After taking some time to experience this explosion of color and activity, we return to the house for breakfast, and then take to the bikes again to explore some more of those lovely canal paths where the only traffic is an occasional motor scooter or pedestrian. At lunch, we pack up and then it's back into the van for the drive back to Saigon.

DAY 5: FLY TO QUY NHON, CYCLE 20KM CYCLING
After a morning flight to Quy Nhon, we spend the afternoon exploring this pleasant seaside town by bike and visit Nguyet Nga centre which is established  by dedicated lady who to provide vocational training for young, disabled Vietnamese.

DAY 6: CYCLE TO QUANG NGAI 
Today we start our cycling journey proper as we leave Quy Nhon on a quiet back road along a sand dune peninsula with great views back over the bay and the mountains. We see lots of coast today as we cycle along the coastal roads passing through fising villages with friendly villagers waving and cheering us on. We take a short drive at the end of the day to get us to the our hotel in Quang Ngai.

DAY 7: CYCLE & FERRY TO HOI AN  
Ride to the summit of Thien An Mountain. A steady 3km climb to the top of Thien An mountain offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. We then continue on to the site of the My Lai Massacre for a guided tour of the memorial museum and shrine. Continue on to the beach to swim. Afternoon drive 2 hours to Duy Vinh and ride winding roads through charming villages to Cam Kim island. We then take a ferry ride to reach Hoi An.

DAY 8: FREE DAY IN HOI AN
Today is a free day for you to enjoy Hoi An. We offer an optional morning ride of the town and the surrounding countryside, but you might prefer a sleep in. Hoi An has a long history dating back as far as the first century, but is known mostly for its role as a trading port for Chinese and Japanese sea merchants during the 17th and 18th centuries. The beauty of the town was miraculously spared the damage that many towns suffered during the American-Vietnam war and today Hoi An is a UNESCO world heritage listed town that cannot be compared to anywhere else in Indochina. It is an intriguing, photogenic old town, located just a short distance from a beautiful beach where you can sit and sip a coconut.

DAY 9: CYCLE TO LANG CO LAGOON
Ride over the spectacular Hai Van Pass to Lang Co lagoon. Today is the most scenic day of the ride as we cycle the back roads along the coast through Danang, stopping for visit to Marble Mountain and the 68m high buddha on Son Tra Peninsula before heading up  Hai Van pass praised by BBC’s Top Gear as the most beautiful coastal mountain road in the world.
Enjoy a tasty picnic lunch in Hai Van Mountain and have some time to relax at the best spot with stupendous view. When ready, we take the thrilling descent into the charming beachside town of Lang Co.

DAY 10: CYCLE TO HUE 
Cycle through small back roads from Lang Co via Phuoc Tuong mountain to Hue. The ride is known to offer the most spectacular rural landscape of the whole Vietnam as we ride along the mountain side pass through rural villages, rice paddy fields, rivers and forests and so many water buffalos in the farm. Stop at a local restaurant in Vinh Hien fishing village for seafood lunch. After lunch, we ride on interesting village roads winding through green paddy fields to Thanh Toan Coverded Bridge, opportunity to chat with local people, visit the village communal houses before arriving the historic capital of Hue.

✦ Support Van: An air conditioned backup support mini bus is always available for supporting on way cycling. This vehicle also serves as our mode of transport when we are not on the bike.
✦ Note: The itinerary can be done in reverse as well, for those starting in Sai Gon - Mekong Delta and wanting to end in Hue.
