HIGHTLIGHTS OF VIETNAM: 12 DAY NORTH TO SOUTH

DAY 1: ARRIVE HANOI - HANOI FOOD TOUR
Upon arrival, our driver with private car will meet you at the airport and transfer to your desired hotel in Ha Noi. Remainder of the day is free to explore the capital city of Ha Noi. 5:00PM your local guide will meet you and take you out for a food tour in Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi

DAY 2: HANOI – HALONG BAY (B, L)
Have breakfast in hotel and join a tour group for Halong bay trip. 4 hour drive to Halong Bay, board your desired junk boat, enjoy a welcome drink before relaxing with a fresh seafood lunch while cruising in the magnificent Ha Long Bay. After lunch, just make yourself at ease and relax. We are slowly getting off the classic cruising routes, far from the usual clichés of this busy tourism spot. Limestone rock formations will parade all around us for about 2 hours before our first stop.
We reach the perfect spot, remote and scenic, where the waters of Halong and Bai Tu Long hit and wave together; Opportunity to paddle a kayak and explore the bay in depth.
After one/one and a half hour kayaking, we get back on board to refresh and start the aperitif on the sundeck. The boat cruises to its secluded anchorage area. Dinner is served either inside or outside depending on weather conditions. Overnight on board in a cozy air-conditioned cabin with en-suite bathroom facilities.

DAY 3: HALONG BAY – HANOI (B)
Start your day early for a wonderful chance to admire the bay waking up around you. Coffee, tea and cakes will be served from 6.30am. Wake up smoothly while witnessing the silence of beautiful misty bay. A 30-minute Tai Chi session will be organized, energize your body and soul or just allow yourself some farniente time on a sunbath with a cup of coffee.
About 7.45am, we hop on bamboo boats to go visiting a secluded floating village surrounded by the mountains. We trace our way between numerous floating houses and small rowing boats that serve the everyday life as vehicle, itinerant shops, fishing utility, sometimes overnight shelter.
Back on boat by mid-morning, we start cruising back to the pier. From 9.30am, a brunch will be served. Disembark around midday back at the pier. The shuttle bus will meet you and transfer back to Hanoi. Arrive back Hanoi around 4pm.

DAY 4: FLY TO DANANG AND TO HOI AN (B,D)
Enjoy free morning to explore the capital city of Hanoi. You can visit the historic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, where the preserved body of “Uncle Ho” resides; the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, the first University for the sons of mandarins, the serene Museum of Ethnology that offers a fascinating insight into Vietnam’s 54 ethnic minorities. Afternoon, you will be transfered by private car to Noi Bai airport for a flight to Danang city.
Upon arrival Danang, your guide (Mr Thanh) will meet you at the airport and transferred 45 minutes to your hotel in Hoi An. You may spend the remainder of the day to relax and swim at hotel swimming pool. You could also take a visit to the colourful market with stalls brimming with local specialties including silk. You can get measured and fitted this afternoon and your new garments will be ready in 24hours.

DAY 5,7: HOI AN (B)
Enjoy your time at leisure for Hoi An beach and relax at swimming pool. Or you can take a guided trip to My Son temples, or a market tour with cooking class. You could also take a tour by boat and bicycle to Hoi An countryside and island surrounding Hoi An. The choice is yours; your guide will discuss your timing for the day depending on your preferences and extra cost you would like to pay. Decide together what you would like to do for your time in Hoi An.

DAY 7: HOI AN – HUE (B)
Our guide, private minivan will meet you at 8:30AM for full day touring and combination of transfer from Hoi An to Hue. Enjoy the most impressive Vietnam landscapes along the way with visit to Marble Mountain, China beach, Da Nang history museum. Also visit the Lang Co beach, Elephant spring where you can swim at the waterfall.

DAY 8: HUE DAY TOUR
Hue is Vietnam’s former royal capital. The trip today includes the Imperial Citadel, which includes the Forbidden Purple City. The latter was almost totally destroyed during the Vietnam War's Tet Offensive, but the foliage-covered ruins are still atmospheric and the gaping holes left by bombs give an idea of the destruction wreaked upon the country during the war.
We also visit one of the royal tombs that of Emperor Tu Duc, with its central lake set amid a grove of frangipani and pine trees. A special vegetarian lunch will be arranged in a nunnery. After lunch we visit the Thien Mu Pagoda, considered by many to be the unofficial symbol of Hue. It's an active Buddhist monastery with its origins dating back to 1601. One of the most poignant displays is a car belonging to a former monk who, in 1963, drove to Saigon and set himself alight to protest against the treatment of Buddhists by the South Vietnamese regime.
Enjoying a dragon boat cruise in late afternoon on the Perfume River for about 60 minutes at sunset is also an experience not to be missed.

DAY 9: FLY TO CHI MINH CITY (B)
Have breakfast at your hotel and depart in time for flight to Saigon. Upon arrival Tan Son Nhat airport, your guide will pick you up and transferred to your hotel in Saigon, the country’s commercial Centre with over ten million inhabitants and many million motorbikes, a city that never sleeps. If time permit, you can embark on a walking tour to admire Saigon’s historic landmarks including the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office designed by the French architect, Gustav Eiffel and the War Remnants Museum.

DAY 10: MEKONG DELTA: MY THO - BEN TRE – CAN THO (B, L)
Drive from Saigon to Ben Tre, one of the country's southern provinces, located in the Delta of the Mekong River. Arrive at the waterfront pier and embark on an enjoyable motor boat excursion. At the Island, visit a local house and be introduced to the owner, have some tea and chat with your host and stroll through the garden to get an insight into daily farming life. Continue your journey by Xe Loi (Mekong Tuk Tuk) to go deeper into coconut jungle, taste some local delicacies during lunch in Ben Tre. Take a traditional sampan boat along the small shady cannels before returning to your car waiting in My Tho city and drive to Can Tho. Arrive in Can Tho around 5:00pm

DAY 11: CAN THO: BOAT TRIP TO FLOATING MARKET (B)
Visit the spectacular Cai Rang floating market by boat. Cai Rang floating market was formed in the 19th century and it is bears all the characteristics of the local’s life in the Mekong region today. All the merchandise and goods are transported to the market by boats. These traders have lived on their boats like their mobile houses for generations. We will mingle amongst the thousands of trading vessels, then heading to small cannels and cruise deeper into the countryside of Can Tho area. After the boat trip, return to your hotel for fresh up, checking out and have lunch in Can Tho. In the afternoon an hour bus ride takes us to ho Chi Minh city.
