This great two day classic adventure tour will take you from Saigon to Cu Chi tunnels and to the mekong delta. Stay overnight with local family, take boat ride to explore the famous floating market and mekong waterways, join in the village activities will enable you to experience the highlights of the Mekong delta. Small group tour ensures a more personalized experience.

ITINERARY:
Day 1: Saigon - Cu Chi - Mekong
8:00AM you will be picked up at your hotel in Saigon and driven to the underground complex of the Cu Chi Tunnels approximately 1.5 hours away. Built by Viet Cong, the complex encompasses 125 miles (200 km) of tunnels by 1965, including hospitals, schools, meeting rooms, kitchens and sleeping quarters.

Upon arrival into the tunnels, your local guide will take you on a fascinating tour of the tunnels. You will wander past huge bomb craters, discover secret bunkers, fighting bunkers and the hospital... Also you have an opportunity to venture into the tunnels and explore the complex, discover hidden entrances right beneath your feet, wander past tiny little chimneys in the ground that dispersed smoke from the underground kitchens, sample some of the simple cuisine that local fighters would have survived on.

Having lunch at local riverside restaurant in Cu Chi, 1:00pm drive from Cu Chi to Cai Be in the Mekong delta by road. Around sunset we take a private boat trip and make our way up one of the many canals to our homestay in Binh Hoa Phuoc Island where we enjoy great local hospitality and a wonderful meal of local specialties. Tonight we sleep on simple camp beds in a dorm-style arrangement. Bedding and mosquito nets are provided. The toilet and bathroom facilities are shared and with hot water shower!

Day 2: Mekong: Cai Be - Ben Tre - Saigon
We will wake up early to the sounds on the Mekong Delta and take a boat ride to visit the floating market in Cai Be. The Cai Be floating market was formed in the 19th century and it is bears all the characteristics of the local’s life in the Mekong region today. All the merchandise and goods are transported to the market by boats. These traders have lived on their boats like their mobile houses for generations.

We will continue on the boat ride into the narrow shady waterways to see some more of the real life of the Mekong people. We will witness local families making popped rice, rice paper, coconut candies and various other local homemade Vietnamese products from the area. You'll get to sample as we travel!

After we disembark, we'll get on our private car for a short transfer to Ben Tre, take a short walking tour with your guide, heading through the fruit orchards and from here, hop on a xe loi (tuk tuk-style motor cart) and ride through the picturesque rice paddies of the Mekong countryside. Stop at a beautiful traditional garden house for lunch. Your delicious lunch will be presented with traditional Mekong specialties including Elephant Ear Fish rolled and wrapped with rice paper, as well as different Vietnamese vegetables and fruits served with tamarind dipping sauce.

After lunch, you will have some time to relax before taking a traditional sampan boat to help get deeper into the narrow shady canals of Mekong delta. Back into our car by Mid afternoon for the drive back to Saigon and to your hotel.
