ITINERARY:
8:00AM our tour guide will meet you at your hotel in Saigon and heading out on a day trip to explore the Mekong Delta. We travel south to Ben Tre by private car which takes about 2 hours. Here we board our boat to cruise the Mekong Delta and explore its intricate waterways. Often referred to as the "rice bowl" of Vietnam, the fertile delta is famous for its abundant harvests of tropical fruits, flowers and rice, as well as its fantastic views while boating along the Mekong.

Upon arrival into My Tho, we will board our private boat for a cruise on the Mekong River. Our first stop is at an Island where we’ll visit a local house and be introduced to the owner, savour freshly picked fruit, chat with your host and walk through the garden to get an insight into daily farming life.

Continuing by boat to another island in the Mekong Delta, we'll learn about cottage industry, coconut candy. Your local guide will take you to a factory and explain the process of making the sweet and various local homemade Vietnamese products from the Mekong area. Sample as you go...

When ready, go on a short walking tour with your guide, heading through the fruit orchards and from here, hop on a xe loi (tuk tuk-style motor cart) and ride through the picturesque rice paddies of the Mekong countryside. Stop at a beautiful traditional garden house for lunch. Your delicious lunch will be presented with traditional Mekong specialties including Elephant Ear Fish rolled and wrapped with rice paper, as well as different Vietnamese vegetables and fruits served with tamarind dipping sauce.

After lunch, you will have some time to relax before taking a traditional sampan boat to help get deeper into the narrow shady canals of Mekong delta. Transfer by boat back to My Tho and returning by vehicle around 4:30pm to Ho Chi Minh City, where your guide will drop you off at your hotel.
