VIETNAM E-BIKE TOUR: 7 days cycling from the Highlands of Dalat to the Imperial City of Hue
Embark on a breathtaking journey through Vietnam’s most diverse landscapes — from cool mountain plateaus to golden beaches, ancient towns, and imperial citadels. This 8-day cycling adventure blends scenic rides, cultural encounters, and local charm, offering the perfect balance of exploration, challenge, and relaxation.
Day 1: DALAT – TA NUNG – LIEN KHUONG (Cycling 30km+, B, L)
Your adventure begins in Dalat, the “City of Eternal Spring,” surrounded by rolling pine-covered hills and vibrant flower farms.
After breakfast, a short transfer takes you to the Cam Ly flower plantation — your starting point for an exhilarating first ride. Pedal through undulating countryside, passing jungle trails and pine forests with sweeping views of Langbiang Mountain.
The route descends gently from 1,500m to 1,100m, leading you into the peaceful Ta Nung Valley. Stop to meet a local Sre ethnic minority family, visit their coffee farm, and savor a cup of rich Dalat coffee right where it’s grown.
Continue to Linh An Pagoda to admire Vietnam’s tallest Buddha statue and the magnificent Elephant Waterfall below — a dramatic cascade roaring through the lush valley. After lunch en route, ride to Lien Khuong, where our support bus transfers you back to Dalat for a relaxing evening in the cool highland air.
Day 2: DALAT – NHA TRANG (Cycling 60km+, B, L)
This morning, we bid farewell to Dalat and head toward the coastal city of Nha Trang via national road 27C — a spectacular 145km mountain route offering some of the most dramatic scenery in from central highlands to the coast.
The road winds through pine forests and majestic mountains as we ride through Bidoup–Nui Ba National Park, one of Vietnam’s most biodiverse regions. At certain points, we’ll reach altitudes of over 1,600 meters above sea level before descending the breathtaking Khanh Vinh Pass, a winding mountain road flanked by waterfalls, cliffs, and sweeping valley views.
After conquering this scenic pass, we’ll stop for a well-deserved lunch at a riverside restaurant before continuing our journey to Nha Trang, arriving in the late afternoon.
Today’s cycling distance is approximately 60km, though it can be extended depending on your preference and ability. Your guide will tailor the route to ensure you experience the most scenic and enjoyable ride possible.
Day 3: NHA TRANG – QUY NHON (Cycling 60km+, B, L)
The total distance from Nha Trang to Quy Nhon is around 220km, but rather than following the busy Highway 1, we will take quieter and more scenic backroads chosen by your guide for a safer and more enjoyable cycling experience.
Our ideal route begins from the foot of Co Ma Pass, following the beautiful coastal road northward. We’ll ride past fishing villages, up Ca mountain coastal pass and serene peninsulas before turning onto national road 29 to explore the tranquil beauty of Vung Ro Bay.
We then continue cycle to Tuy Hoa, From there, our support bus takes us through busier sections to Quy Nhon, arriving by late afternoon. Known for its relaxed atmosphere and friendly locals, Quy Nhon is the perfect place to unwind by the sea.
Cycling distance today is approximately 60km or longer, adjustable based on your fitness and interest.
Day 4: QUY NHON – QUANG NGAI (Cycling 60km+, B, L)
After breakfast and hotel check-out, we depart Quy Nhon and travel north toward Quang Ngai, following peaceful coastal roads lined with fishing villages, salt fields, and seafood farms, where locals work diligently in their daily routines.
We transfer about one hour from the city center to our starting point at Cat Tien – Trung Luong, from where we cycle along the beautiful coastal route toward Tam Quan. This area offers light traffic, open sea views, and excellent cycling conditions.
Depending on time and energy levels, today’s ride can extend beyond 60km. In the late afternoon, our support vehicle will transfer us to Quang Ngai City for hotel check-in and and a well-deserved rest.
Day 5: QUANG NGAI – HOI AN (Cycling 60km+ L, D)
Today’s ride takes us from Quang Ngai to the charming ancient town of Hoi An. After breakfast, we transfer by bus to the bypass near Tam Ky, then begin cycling northeast along tranquil coastal and riverside roads.
Pedal along backroads along the coast, beside rivers, passing paddies, and farmlands growing rice, corn and peanuts... Crossing small bridges to islands, wave to farmers and fishermen, and feel the tranquil rhythm of daily life.
Later, explore the coconut palms of Tra Nhieu by traditional basket boat, visit a family of mat weavers, then take a short ferry across the Thu Bon River. Arrive in Hoi An just before sunset.
Day 6: HOI AN – FREE DAY (NON Cycling, B)
A full day to enjoy the magic of Hoi An — no cycling today!
This beautifully preserved trading port, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, invites you to slow down and soak in its charm. Wander through the Ancient Town with its wooden merchant houses, tailor shops, and bustling markets; visit the Japanese Covered Bridge or folk museums.
Alternatively, relax on the nearby An Bang or Cua Dai Beach, or simply lounge by your hotel pool. Hoi An’s gentle pace, warm hospitality, and romantic riverside atmosphere make it an unforgettable highlight of the journey.
Day 7: HOI AN – HUE (Cycling 60km+, B, L)
This morning, we leave Hoi An and travel north to Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. The highlight of today’s ride is the legendary Hai Van Pass, one of the most beautiful coastal mountain roads in the world.
The pass rises to an elevation of 500 meters above sea level, winding between mountains and sea with panoramic views at every turn. After conquering the pass, we descend toward Lang Co Bay, where we enjoy lunch at a charming waterfront restaurant overlooking one of Vietnam’s most picturesque lagoons. In the afternoon, cycle along quiet roads beside Lang Co Lagoon, through wood areas, and finish at the base of Phuoc Tuong Pass. From here, our bus transfers the group to Hue — the imperial heart of Vietnam. It’s the perfect conclusion to your cycling odyssey — a blend of adventure, nature, and timeless Vietnamese culture.
