Cycle Hoi An to Phong Nha
Day 1: Cycling Hoi An to Hue
8:00 leave Hoi An, and cycle the coast road along the china beach, stopping for drinks by the beach before heading up and over Hai Van pass praised by BBC’s Top Gear as the most beautiful coastal mountain road in the world. We avoid the traffic on High Way 1 and take the scenic countryside lane and enjoy some of the most impressive landscapes in Vietnam. We stop at Lang Co beach for swim, drink and picnic lunch. After lunch we continue along the coast through small fishing villages before arriving the historic capital of Hue.

Day 2: Hue Day Ride
Hue is one of Vietnam's most beautiful and historic cities. The city centre and countryside are an historic showcase of culture and architecture. Our biking today takes us to many the important historic sites of the city – including the Tomb of Tu Duc Eperor, Thanh Toan bridge and the remnants of the stunning Citadel. The ride today includes a bit of up and down through the city and countryside. Afternoon we’ll take a gentle ascent of Vong Canh Hill rewards us with spectacular views before returning to Hué by boat on the Perfume River, visiting the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda, home to the oldest monastery in the city, whose 21m high tower has become something of a symbol for Hue.

Day 3: Cycle the DMZ and Transfer to Phong Nha
We hop in the van and transfer out of the city to the countryside. Near Tam Giang lagoon we set up the bikes and head off to explore this area. We ride the flat countryside road along the bank of the most beautiful lagoon of Vietnam. Enjoy beautiful landscape, small charming villages, vast sandy dune dotted by willow trees. Mid-morning in the day we will hop back in the van for the drive to the historic DMZ and Vinh Moc tunnels. You will walk cross the Ben Hai River on Hien Luong Bridge that used to demarcate the division between North and South Vietnam (1954-1975), and take a fascinating tour of the hostorical Vinh Moc Tunnels. Have lunch at a local restaurant and drive along highway 1A to Dong Hoi. Later in the day we will cycle the Ho Chi Minh trail to Phong Nha. Enjoy the rolling hills and the impressive sight of karsts, the small abrupt mountains. Tonight we stay at the remote farm stay or family run hotel in Phong Nha.

Day 4: Cycling Phong Nha National Park & Region
After breakfast this morning we’ll head out for an exploratory ride up through the Phong Nha valley. Our route takes us along the old Ho Chi Minh trail. There are a couple of steep climbs on the route to Paradise cave, but the support van is always ready to assist just in case. Time to visit the famous Paradise cave. Lunch en-route. In afternoon, we continue to wind through the beautiful valley to Son river where we take a boat trip to explore Phong Nha cave and Tien Son cave.

Day 5: departure
Breakfast at our farmstay is followed by a transfer to the airport or train station in Dong Hoi for departure.
