Discover the Mekong delta on a bicycle, cycling on the backcountry roads, stay overnight with local family, take a boat ride to explore the famous floating market and mekong waterways, join in the village activities will enable you to experience the highlights of the Mekong delta.

Itinerary:
Day 1: SAI GON - BEN TRE - TRA VINH( L,D)
Transfer out of Ho Chi Minh City to the countryside of the Mekong delta by bus, crossing the Mekong river on the longest bridge in the Mekong delta, in the other side is Ben Tre province – the gateway of the Mekong delta.
We take a boat trip onto the MeKong River and small shady cannels, enjoy the local seasonal fruits before cycling. Today’s ride will lead you right into the countryside of the rural Mekong delta. The route takes you through narrow paths under shade of palm forest, cycle some off-road sections and stroll around hamlets, and through green rice paddy. This makes for great Cycling.

Lunch at local restaurant, in afternoon we visit the DONGKHOI museum where considered of VietNamese communist cradle during VietNam war, then cycling the windy country roads to the largest section of Mekong river for a refreshing ferry boat ride acrossing the river. After disembark, we ride final 4km to the hotel in Tra Vinh.

DAY 2: TRA VINH - TRA ON - BINH MINH - CAN THO( B,L,D)
Have breakfast at the hotel, check out and ready for exploring even more the delta by bicycle. Tra Vinh is famous for charming villages of Khmer minority people and the regional architecture is interesting. There are many Khmer temples to visit and admire. Your guide will discuss your timing for the day depending on your preferences and cycling ability. Decide together how long you would like to bike, so our guide will design a suitable route for you. Lunch at the local cafe at the local market near Tra On.
Late afternoon meet the local family in Can Tho, we enjoy great local hospitality and a wonderful meal of local specialties. Tonight we sleep on simple camp beds in a Mekong-style arrangement. Bedding and mosquito nets are provided. The toilet and bathroom facilities are shared and with hot water shower.

DAY 3: CANTHO -CAI RANG FLOATING MARKET - BINH HOA PHUOC ISLAND ( B,L,D)
Awaken early to the sounds on the Mekong Delta and take a boat ride to visit the well-known floating market which is located on the Hau (lower) river. The Cai Rang floating market was formed during the Nguyen Dynasty in the 19th century and today it is bearing all the characteristics of the local’s life in the Mekong region. All the goods are transported to the market by boats and traders live on their boats like their mobile houses for generations.
Continue on your boat ride into the narrow shady waterways to see even more the remote areas in Can Tho. Visit a rice mill and rice paper home work-shop. After taking some time to experience this explosion of color and activity, we bike through many charming villages of Can Tho area. Mid afternoon transfer to Vinh Long, then join locals for a ferry ride to Binh Hoa Phuoc island, then cycle a short distance to the homestay on the island.

DAY 4: BINH HOA PHUOC ISLAND - CAI BE - CAI LAY - VINH KIM
We will take a boat ride to Cai Be, cross the narrow canals on the local sampan to see some more of the real life of the Mekong people. We will witness local families making popped rice, rice paper, coconut candies and various other local homemade Vietnamese products from the area.
After we disembark, we cycle the shady canal paths through many rural villages from Cai Be to Cai Lay and to Vinh Kim. Lunch will be en-route. Late afternoon, it's back into the van for the drive back to Saigon and to your hotel in Saigon.
